Superb Creative Photography by Yann Le Pape
Yann Le Pape was born and raised in Paris.Yann's first foray into the artistic world was as a musician. During his late teens and early twenties, he spent 10 years in the south west of France playing trumpet and flute in various funk and latin jazz bands.
During this time of musical exploration, YLP discovered photography and it quickly became his new passion. He left his musical aspirations behind and returned to Paris to pursue a career in Photography. He had his first solo exhibition in Paris working at one of the best photo studios which gave him the opportunity to assist many of the top photographers in Europe and the world.
After honing his skills as an assistant, Yann embarked on his professional career in 2001. Since then, he has shot for some of the top Advertising Agencies in the world. His work has been awarded prizes in several advertising contests, including 2 bronze Lions in Cannes, Eurobest, and the Andy awards.
Yann has also been featured in Luerzer's Archive's 200 Best Advertising Photographers, PDN's Photo Annual.
Yann is a self described perfectionist and continually pushes himself to explore new aesthetic boundaries and processes. He is fascinated by the power of the moment and looks to capture that as often as he can.
Aside from his commercial work, YLP is currently working on a personal project of portraits and landscapes. These photos are scheduled to show in 2009 and will have an accompanying book.
Yann currently splits his time between Paris (where he lives with his wife and 2 children) and the US.
