Olaf Blecker's version of portrait photogaphy has opened up a new way of looking at people. A signiticant contribition on this has been made by his portraits of prominent personalities, which have been published in recent years in both german and international magazines. These include the Suddeutsche magazin (south german magazine), the new york times magazine and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Whether he is depicting foreign ministers or boxing champions, Blecker's portraits of such people repeatedly cut across the traditional conceptions of classic celebrity photography. The same aesthetic principle can also be successfully applied in advertising work, as is shown by his long list of internetional agencies - a list that continues to grow. Living in Berlin, Blecker has been working as afreelance photographer since 1995. His work includes campaigns and editorials as well as freely chosen projects.
